Tracker
Tracker is the
deployment technician's untility to control and track progress of the work on the
old and/or new PCs. It is used to automate and track deployment job actions. Job
workflow is definable.

Prestaging actions (new PC allocated, AD groups copied
from old to new computer account), Basebuild completed, PreStaging completed (user
specific applications installed), Missing Applications check, and unit Shipped to
site.

Migration actions (new unit Received at site, Backup Started,
Backup Complete, Restore started, Restore complete).

Upgrade actions (Upgrade Started, Upgrade Complete)

Failed actions (No Show, Late Cancellation, Migrate/Upgrade Failed)
Tracker can call custom Backup and Restore uitilites and is specifically set up
to call MS-USMT ScanState and LoadState. Interim data store can reside on the new
PC or optionally on a server share, or removeable diskdrive. Additional custom backup and restore actions can be included
to complement MS-USMT, e.g. scanning
for bespoke application data items and coping to a new location on the new PC.
