DMS Console
The DMS console is used to configure and drive the deployment process.
The utilities are client PC tools or server based tools. The client PC tools can
be invoked in various ways and are typically located on a server share to avoid
the need for installation on the target client PC. The server based tools are either
scheduled or run as services. The Console controls how utilities are run.
The Console is used by the project admins to configure
and drive the deployment process. For example it can be used to define the business
logic and deployment rules, then used to find user records associated to PCs that
qualify for upgrade or replacment, and send emails to those users to register and/or
book in to a deployment session.
Where it is decided that users are not offered the self booking option the console
is used by the admins to schedule users and their associated PCs, and then email
them as required.
